ACE Club

The ‘Another Creative Event’ Club, ACE Club for short, had its inaugural event last month.

Alan Greta and Ryan were the three lucky people who stepped away from their desks to partake in a creative event.

The creative event was the Watch Me Move animation show at the Barbican.

The exhibition traces the history of animation over the past 150 years. It’s exciting to see how the first experimental
studies of the human body and movement evolved into the world of animation we know and love today.

150 years of animation

We particularly loved the animation called Dimensions of a Dialogue by Jan Svankmajer which is a creative
interpretation of a conversation between man and woman.

Inspired by what they saw, Greta, Alan and Ryan took a series of still photographs and used them to create their
own stop-motion animation, check it out:

Greta, Alan and Ryan also prepared a presentation which talked us through the exhibition space, the key
milestones, key artists, exhibition highlights and detailed the significant elements that are necessary in the creation
of any animation.

These are cards that Greta, Alan and Ryan created after their trip to the Barbican. As we venture out to more events
we hope to build on these cards and develop our own unique deck to remind ourselves of our ACE visits.
