Freedom4 | Liberating Connectivity

FREEDOM_2

CLIENT: Pipex Ltd
PROJECT: Brand Identity

The Pipex Group and Intel Capital created a joint venture to launch a new Wi-Max enabled wireless service, they needed a brand with stand-out appeal to position them as the new player in the UK telecoms market.

Our services were engaged to create the name and identity for the new brand in order to deliver an effective launch through an initial wave of marketing communications.

Competition across the broadband market is notoriously fierce so we knew that we needed to create a distinct and ownable brand identity that could hold its own against established rivals and offer something new to its target segments.

As a service, Wi-Max enables its customers to connect to the web whenever and wherever they wanted at significantly greater speeds than regular Wi-Fi.

Therefore, the core concept behind our branding was ‘liberating connectivity’. We felt that this proposition encapsulated the offering that was integral to the new service

We developed the name, Freedom4, to evoke a timeless sense of empowerment and revolution which would also serve to create an emotive impact in the launch campaign, using headlines like ‘Freedom4 the people’ and ‘Freedom4 speech’.

The name also provided enough flexibility of language so as to allow the launch campaign to tailor communications to specific local territories, such as “Freedom4 Manchester” for example.

Alongside the naming and identity we also developed a range of corporate communications, an internal communications campaign, designed the Freedom4 website and the advertising for the launch campaign.

If you’d like to have a chat with us about your brand we’d love to hear from you
