Eurovision | Feel Your Heart Beat

CLIENT: Brainpool
PROJECT: Brand Identity

After successfully pitching against several highly respected agencies, we were chosen to create the visual identity for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.

In 2011 the Grand Final took place in the Host City of Düsseldorf, Germany, between 10-14 May. It was the culmination of months of competition throughout Europe to qualify for the Grand Final and it was broadcast live in over 43 countries and to an audience of approximately 125 million people.

Based on the line ‘Feel your heart beat!’, the visual identity we created was developed around the shape of a heart. The heart was formed from an array of luminous lines of light, symbolising the energy and diversity of this world-famous event. The identity was designed to migrate seamlessly across visual mediums as both an energetic and uplifting static identity as well as a dynamic animation in all on-screen graphics.

We created all of the animated graphic assets that were used during the show such as the title sequence, stings, lower 3rd straps and dynamic voting tables.

In October, our work on the Eurovision identity was recognised with an award for innovation at the 13th International Eyes & Ears Awards 2011.
