For the past three years Atelier Martino&Jaña have created striking poster designs for the Guimarães Jazz festival.
I really liked the posters they produced for the 2009 festival and I love the set they produced for 2010. They incorporate beautiful hand-drawn type from 23 year old illustrator Min alongside a bold and colourful range of Mad Men-esque illustrations.
In their own words:
“As a reaction to the success of the 2009 Guimarães Jazz posters, we tried a completely different graphical and conceptual approach for the 2010 edition. We based the graphical decision on the idea that Jazz could be colourful and fun, still maintaining audacity and sensuality.”
