Lebanese Lunch Hour

Today the studio came together to enjoy a traditional home-made Lebanese lunch courtesy of Greta, a Senior Designer here at Turquoise, to celebrate her successful visa extension to stay in the UK.

Greta prepare and presented a mouth-watering menu consisting of the following, authentically Lebanese, delights:

Manakeesh – dough topped with thyme, sesame seeds and olive oil

Fatayer – savoury pastries stuffed with spinach

Tabbouleh – a lebanese speciality salad made of chopped parsley, mint, tomato, onion and bulgur)

Falafel

Loubieh bi zeit – green beans coooked with olive oil, tomato, onion and garlic

Batata harra – spicy potatoes with coriander

Warak enab – stuffed vine leaves

Shankleesh – aged cheese covered with thyme and pepper mixed with onion, tomato and olive oil

Kibbeh – croquettes stuffed with meat and chicken

Hummus

Labneh – strained yoghurt

Whilst we fed our faces, Greta fed our minds with a fact-filled presentation all about Lebanon »

Greta has been with us at Turquoise since 2010 and we’re very glad to be able to continue working with her now and into the future.

The food was marvelous and we learnt lots. What better way to round-out the week?

Thanks Greta!
