***APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED*** We are assisting a client to place a Head of Marketing & Commercial Development to be responsible for developing strategic marketing plans and initiatives that enhance its commercial partnerships across key territories including the UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Egypt. The Head of Marketing & Commercial Development will support the COO and MD’s across the client’s various business divisions in the design and execution of a B2B (and B2C where relevant) marketing strategy that underpins the advertising sales efforts across the business footprint, and lift brand awareness across the key territories. The Head of Marketing & Commercial Development will work closely with the Head of Research and the finance team to review and set the commercial sales policy. The successful candidate will also need to work closely with media sales houses and the company’s branding agency. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in brand, trade and consumer marketing and a desire to learn, a proactive creative thinker with ‘can do’ attitude and a robust attention to detail. Preferred qualities: • Strong understanding of the dynamics in advertising and affiliate sales, to guide and inform strategy • Strong analytical skills in qualitative and quantitative audience and brand research to translate audience insight into a brand strategy, marketing plan and effective campaigns • Excellent interpersonal, communication and written (brief writing) skills, to effectively work with and convey key messages to colleagues, senior management and external international affiliates/agencies and contacts • Understanding of trade marketing landscape within distribution and ad sales within the media sector Essential qualities: • Experience in leading/managing a team. • Managing multimedia campaigns, including defining budgets and managing delivery to ensure efficient use of resources • Proven track record of high quality, breakthrough creative in consumer marketing campaigns and promotions to bring about significant brand uplift and increase in client awareness across both advertising and affiliate disciplines • Ability to serve multiple internal stakeholders concurrently and communicate well within a matrix type structure Skills and experience: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
