Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) has appointed international branding consultancy Turquoise to develop and implement a branding strategy, which supports its drive to attract significant inward investment into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Turquoise was appointed following a competitive pitch and has been given a complex brief which includes development of SAGIA’s positioning and identity along with the brand architecture that supports this, plus the creative development of a series of initiatives that include education and business service solutions. Fahd Hamidaddin, Group Marketing Director at SAGIA, commented: “Turquoise demonstrated a real depth in its strategic thinking and in its understanding of the issues that affect both our organisation and Saudi Arabia. This, combined with its track record in defining and communicating complex offerings, made it the ideal partner to help us develop a brand strategy that will define our role and help us to articulate it to the wider world.” The aim of SAGIA’s activities is to achieve sustainable rapid economic growth while capitalising on Saudi Arabia’s strengths as the global capital of energy, and as a major hub between East and West. As part of this it is creating multiple economic cities (one as big as Hong Kong) built around key regional activities such energy, finance, transportation etc. In addition, SAGIA is successfully working towards the goal of positioning KSA amongst the ten most competitive nations by 2010 through the creation of a pro-business environment. Keith Wells, Group Managing Director at Turquoise, added: “SAGIA is a hugely respected organisation that has made a significant contribution to the future of KSA in a relatively short space of time. Its achievements in investment and business development are unparalleled and we are extremely proud to have been selected by such a dynamic team.” Turquoise is a successful, fast-growing international branding consultancy, which launched in the UK in 2004 and subsequently launched its office in Dubai two years later. The consultancy has skills and expertise across a variety of industry sectors, but is particularly well known for its work in the areas of broadcast, telecoms and property with a number of major international blue-chip brands including du, Saudi Telecom, Saudi TV, UK Design Skills Alliance, Nakheel and Sama Dubai.
