Tanztheater, Tents and Tolkien » 3rd Wednesdays
Blog | In The Studio
Hi de hi campers! This month we gathered together to hear from Creative Director Greg whilst tucking into some amazing pies from Motion Designer Oz. Greg shared with us his trip to Sadler‚Äôs Wells to view Scottish Ballet’s adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire. The performance by Scottish Ballet was infused with the choreographic stylings of the Pina Bausch Tanztheater Wuppertal, which led Greg to the outstanding documentary tribute Pina directed Wim Wenders: Next we were introduced to the innovative designs of Fieldcandy, who appear to have cornered the market for creating eye-catching, alternative styles for camping enthusiasts. Finally, Greg shared with us a poster that had caught his eye on the underground that, he explained, crystallized his attitude toward the creative process: Which reminded him of Address is Approximate, a short film he’d found whilst wandering through the web looking for inspiration: An excellently edifying talk from Greg!
Our tastebuds were taken care of by Oz who prepared an amazing steak and ale pie with a vegetarian alternative of feta cheese, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and toasted pine nuts. The recipe for the steak and ale pie is here and the feta pie was, I’m told ‘pure jazz’ onOz’s part, so you can go ahead and have fun with that one. Next month we’re going to be sampling pies from our Executive Creative Director Gareth Mapp and a talk from 3rd Wednesdays mastermind himself, Nick Cox. Toodles!
